Chicago's DJ Nate beaten, robbed in broad daylight

Shockingly, the incident was caught on video.

Upsetting news out of Chicago: footworker-turned-rapper Nathan “DJ Nate” Clark was beaten and robbed while bystanders — and a cameraman — looked on without intervening.

In the below video (which is not for the faint-of-heart), Clark is approached by the cameraman on the street. After confirming his identity, the assailant sucker-punches him and proceeds to steal his belt and watch. Clark doesn’t fight back, and the cameraman (who by the looks of things, could have been part of the set-up) keeps filming. If there is any silver lining here, the assailant is plainly visible during the entire ordeal and hopefully can be identified by police.

The unfortunate incident follows a string of violence that has befallen the music world: both Chicago footwork producer Traxman and AraabMuzik were shot during robberies, while 18-year-old rapper Lil Snupe was killed last week.
