The Arduino-equipped device features everything you’d expect from a basic Eurorack modular synth.

Eurorack modular systems aren’t quite as large as the room-sized systems of the 1960s and 70s, but they’re still too bulky for some home studios. Soundmachines’ NS1nanosynth however might offer a solution for those who want to experiment with patching when space is tight.

The synth is the work of Soundmachines’ Davide Mancini, an engineer with a background in Eurorack. He’s managed to cram a VCO, 12 dB lowpass and bandpass filter, two LFOs, ADSR envelope, and standard VCA onto a tiny board roughly the size of a single Eurorack module.

As well as letting you patch each component like a standard modular, the board is Arduino-equipped with a connection that allows you use MIDI over USB  and plug it into a computer or tablet.
