There may still be hope for the iconic club.

London mayor Sadiq Khan has issued a brief statement about Fabric’s license suspension after their own voluntary closure following two drug-related deaths at the club. DJs and artists have called upon Kahn, who had previously spoken out about Dance Tunnel and in support of London’s club scene during his campaign, to save the club. He has now taken to Twitter to urge Fabric, the Metropolitan police and Islington Council to come together and work something out.

Fabric has still not addressed the license suspension, but had issued a statement after their voluntary closure immediately following the death of two teens at the club. “For the past two years fabric has operated without incident but tragically in the past nine weeks two 18-year-old boys have died as a consequence of drug overdoses,” they wrote.

“In order to understand how this has happened we have agreed with the police and other agencies to suspend our operation whilst we investigate.”
