Tony Williams has another single out, this time under his tried-and-tested Headhunter alias.

On Tuesday, we trailed Williams’ forthcoming Adventures In Rainbow Country EP for 50Weapons, released as Addison Groove. Now, we can point towards a new 12″ under Williams’ older – and, we’d argue, more consistent – alias.

‘What U Got’ / ‘Default’, available now through BM Soho, is the first Headhunter release of note since last year’s ‘Clone/Projector’ single for Black Box. Unlike the garish material he’s been pursuing of late, ‘What U Got’/’Default’ offers lumbering, aqueous dubstep. ‘What U Got’ is a squelchy, gloomy cut, overlaid with some sci-fi touches. ‘Default’, meanwhile, is the more sensuous of the pair – a burbling and spooky exercise in c.140bpm beatmaking.
