Alongside nutty beatmaker Baauer, drummer-turned-producer Cid Rim is one of LuckyMe’s newest recruits.

The Viennese producer had done time as a member of Dorian Concept’s live ensemble, and ploughs a similar analogue furrow to his MicroKorg-bashing counterpart. Cid Rim, his debut full-length for the Glasgow collective, has been fairly heavily trailed (cf dainty aperitif ‘Log Out Of Bounds’ and the snappier ‘Draw’), and he’s now made a supplementary track from the album sessions available for free download.

‘Poellau’ is a lumbering number, layering astral synths above a knock-kneed percussion track. There’s lots of crenellated detail and an impressive looseness at work. That said, like much of Cid Rim, it loosely prods rather than grabs the attention. Promising rather than potent, then, but still rich enough to merit a home on your hard drive.
