Bill Kouligas’ PAN imprint – our favourite label of 2012, no less – have announced a new festival,  PAN_ACT.

Scheduled to run from June 14-29, PAN_ACT will assemble a selection of predictably off-piste artists for a range of events across the city, designed to represent “the intersections of conceptual art in underground dance and experimental music.” The bill has been curated by Kouligas and ISSUE Project Room’s Lawrence Kumpft, with extra organisational assistance from the Goethe-Institut.

The schedule is rich, sophisticated and full of surprises. Revered minimalist  composer Catherine Christer Hennix will take over the ISSUE Project Room, presenting the ‘The Illuminatory Sound Environment’ installation on June 14, giving a talk on June 18 and offering a performance on June 19. June 20 will welcome snd producer Mark Fell and mastering expert/musician Rashad Becker, whereas Joseph Hammer and PAN sample fiend Jar Moff will touch down on June 21.

The major draw is a banner gig at The Bunker on June 21, featuring Regis, Lee Gamble, Laurel Halo, Keith Fullerton Whitman and Bill Kouligas. June 22 will see blasted rapper Sensational continue his collaborations with Koyxen, backed by Call Super and DJ Richard. June 28 will pair up Eli Keszler & Ashley Paul with OPN collaborator Rene Hell, and June 29 will see Gamble, Koyxen and Heatsick showcase their wares.
