Magic moments.

As a member of the extended Sun Araw band, Alex Grey has had plenty of time to explore the psychedelic side of his music, and ‘Brighter Days’ finds the producer taking step in a more peaceful direction. Culled from his forthcoming album Reflections of Most Forgotten Love, the track is a woozy electronic meditation, laced with tape noise and the sort of rumble you’d more likely expect to hear on a far noisier record.

It’s unashamedly gorgeous stuff, bringing to mind early Boards of Canada or even Oneohtrix Point Never with its lilting detuned synthesizer tones and moving melodic structures.

Reflections of Most Forgotten Love is out on June 25 on Preservation.
