London’s Lovebox Festival has announced its first names for this Summer’s edition.
The name on most people’s lips with be A$AP Rocky – the Harlem rapper hasn’t done the UK festival circuit quite as hard as some of his peers, and should be one of Lovebox’s most in-demand acts. Fellow New Yorker Joey Bada$$ also plays, as does Stones Throw lynchpin Madlib – his recent show at Dance Tunnel was a sell-out, so expect more hype around this one.
So far, it’s a dance-heavy line-up, with Bondax, Dense & Pika, Hannah Wants, Huxley, Joy Orbison, Duke Dumont, Scuba, Mount Kimbie, Paul Woolford and Special Request, Sub Focus and Moderat all touching down for DJ sets and live shows.
The Horrors will be repping for the indie side of things, though, while Bonobo, David Rodigan, Banks and Katy B [above] all should prove hot tickets. Stages are hosted by Red Bull Music Academy, Annie Mac, Crack Magazine and Krankbrother, Soundcrash, Noisey, The Hydra and Basslaced.
Lovebox takes place from July 18-19 at Victoria Park. For more information, head here.
