It’s finally here.

It’s been a bloody long wait, but we now finally get to hear a full track from Aphex Twin‘s forthcoming album Syro. Entitled ‘minipops 67 [120.2][source field mix]’, it’s the recording that previously did the rounds as ‘the Manchester track‘, and it’s pretty great to hear it in high resolution finally.

Those of you waiting for Richard D. James to return to the sound he perfected on ‘Windowlicker‘ should be very pleased indeed – here we’ve got woozy synths, syncopated beats and even similar disembodied vocals, and it’s no bad thing at all. We even get another awkwardly funny blurb: “This is the first Aphex Twin dong fore 13 years between the publication of the first a formal music.”

The artwork is well worth a look too, documenting all the YouTube views for Aphex Twin material since February 1st 2014.
