As every (milk)man and his dog knows, the first new Aphex Twin album in 13 years arrives on September 19. Alongside the standard digital, CD and vinyl releases, Warp will also put out a deluxe limited vinyl box set – and it’s a stunner.

Designed by Warp regulars The Designers Republic in collaboration with James, the set will arrive on limited edition perspex vinyl. The package includes a debossed bonus track, and features shots of the vinyl pucks used to press the album. A “disinfographic”, listing the equipment used on the album, is also included. The package will be pressed in a run of 200 copies, and will cost £250.

Creative Review, who are hosting the images, have also chatted to TDR’s Ian Anderson about the album’s distinctive artwork, which itemises the costs of making and promoting the album:

“At the beginning of the process we discussed a few ideas Richard wanted to explore – one was the idea of pressing the album or a single track into the fabric of the cover, effectively as a deboss; a second was to use shots of the raw vinyl pucks albums are pressed from; and the third was to document in some way every cost involved in the production of the specific album format the purchaser had in their hands”

Scroll down to have a gander. And if you’re eagerly awaiting the record, why not pass the time with our rundown of the 50 greatest Aphex Twin tracks?
