Drizzy’s “truss mi daddi” is immortalised on the grime star’s new track.

After Drake borrowed a line from Skepta’s ‘That’s Not Me’, the BBK MC has paid him back by sampling the Toronto rapper’s hilarious Vine from the start of the year.

Produced by Skepta and Ragz Originale, ‘Shutdown’ is taken from his forthcoming album #Konnichiwa. “We made about 7 different instrumentals to it but this one was the maddest,” he told Fader. “Big up my bro Drake on the sample, trust me listen.”

The single is the latest in a flurry of cultural exchanges between US and UK rap – earlier this week Skepta was one of the dozens of grime MCs on stage with Kanye West at the Brits, and last year he put out a track with A$AP Mob’s Young Lord.
