In FACT TV’s new series AAA, we capture artists at the intimate moment right before they take the stage.

First up, Vince Staples. From Long Beach, California, Staples is barely into his 20s, but the success of his debut album Summertime ’06 has propelled his status to one of hip-hop’s great new hopes. He makes just as many headlines speaking his mind (and shutting down stuck-in-the-past ‘heads’) as he has with his music – he’s 22, he’s learning on the job. We all are. We followed him up until the point where he took the stage at East London’s Cargo on Bonfire Night, with Kano, Damon Albarn and more in attendance.

Directed by Kamil Dymek
