Watch the first episode of David Bowie's Blackstar video series

The first episode of the Instagram mini-series based on David Bowie’s Blackstar has been unveiled.

‘UNBOUND’ consists of 16 short videos offering different “visual interpretations” of the album, and stars Rookie magazine founder Tavi Gevinson and Six Feet Under actress Patricia Clarkson. The episodes will be posted every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Bowie gave the series creators early access to the music from Blackstar, “with no limits or preconditions on his part,” they explained.

“Each episode of the series is sure to capture the imaginations of all who experience it and will undoubtedly lead to endless speculation and discussion of meaning, metaphor and intention.”

At this week’s Brit Awards, Lorde performed ‘Life On Mars’ in tribute to Bowie, earning the praise of his son Duncan Jones for her “beautiful” performance.

Last week Glastonbury announced that the festival will screen the late musician’s 2000 headline performance.
