David Bowie’s son Duncan Jones has thanked Lorde for her “beautiful” tribute to the late rock star.

The Kiwi singer performed ‘Life On Mars’ at last night’s ceremony accompanied by Bowie’s backing band and wearing a shirt and waistcoat to mimic to Bowie’s famous “Archer” photograph.

“Finally found the links to tonight’s Brits,” tweeted Jones. “Just… beautiful. Thank you.”

The Moon director’s praise was in sharp contrast to the kicking he gave Lady Gaga’s Grammys tribute to Bowie, which he labelled as “mentally confused”.

Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox also made a speech in tribute to Bowie before actor Gary Oldman accepted a Brits Icon award in his honour.
