The blues voice dips into dancehall for her new single.

Alicia Keys has unveiled ‘In Common’, her first new solo music since 2012’s Girl On Fire. The new single has a chart-ready polish, hitting the sweet spot between Jamie xx’s bass-heavy pop and the post-Popcaan trend for featherlight dancehall a la Bieber, Drake and Rihanna.

Stream ‘In Common’ below and look out for Keys’ performance on Saturday Night Live this week.

We last heard Keys team up with Kendrick Lamar in 2014 for ‘It’s On Again’, a song for The Amazing Spider-man 2 soundtrack.

Meanwhile, Keys’ five-year-old son Egypt Dean has already got himself a production credit on Kendrick Lamar’s untitled, unmastered and has been busy in the studio with Q-Tip. Yes, five years old.
