“I’ve never seen anything like this.”

Legendary German director Werner Herzog has offered an analysis of Kanye West’s ‘Famous’ video.

Speaking to The Daily Beast today (August 12), Herzog comments on the authenticity of the doppelgängers featured in the video and how “our understanding of self has in a way deeply and radically changed.”

The director also tries to name all the celebrity waxworks featured in the video, which he calls “deceivingly well cast.” “The fact that there’s just breathing and imagining is wonderful about it. This is very good stuff,” he says.

The best bit is when Herzog mistakenly refers to Kanye as “Kane”, extending an invitation for “Kane West” to apply to his film school, because he’s “never seen anything like this.” Watch it below and check out West’s original work of art on YouTube.
