A hybrid performance with drums, vocals and electronics from the genre-bending US artist.

Body Meat is the solo project of Christopher Taylor, a US multi-instrumentalist and producer whose experimental pop music draws on a wide variety of influences, from the exploratory footwork of Jlin and African club sounds of the Nyege Nyege label, to Chicago drill duo Sicko Mobb and legendary R&B act Boyz II Men.

On this episode of Patch Notes, Taylor gives us an insight into the process that went into his latest EP Year of the Orc, which was written and recorded in his apartment in Philadelphia. The hybrid session sees Taylor combine live drums and vocals with beats from an Elektron Digitakt and FX from a Korg Monotron.

Year of the Orc is available now. You can follow Body Meat on Instagram and find his music at Bandcamp.
