Last week, songwriter Paul Williams caused a bit of a Daft Punk-related fuss.
Speaking at a SXSW film festival screening of documentary Paul Williams: Still Alive, Williams not only revealed that he was working on the new album by French electronic duo Daft Punk, but claimed that said album – which also features work from Chic’s Nile Rodgers – would be released in “maybe June”.
As you’d expect, the Internet got very excited about this news, only to be struck down today by representatives of Daft Punk, who told Pitchfork that there is no new album coming in June.
Dislike.
