Whoever deals with Kanye West’s home insurance has a long day in the office to look forward to.

According to NME, the rapper’s Los Angeles home was burgled in the early hours of yesterday morning. Kanye is currently in the UK for the Watch The Throne mega-tour with Jay-Z. A member of Kanye’s entourage who had stopped by Kanye’s home called the LAPD to report the break-in.

It’s not yet known what was pilfered, but eyewitness reports suggest that the brigands dropped some of Kanye’s possessions as they scarpered from the scene. TMZ claims, via the usual “law enforcement services”, that obvious high-value items appear not to have been taken; officers are waiting for West to return to verify what, if anything, is missing. Let’s hope those infamous fur pillows aren’t now circulating on the black market.

Obviously, this isn’t great news for the rapper/producer/theme-park impresario – but, then again, worse things have happened when away from home.
