The Daft Punk rumour mill continues to churn out mixed signals at a rate of knots.
On Tuesday, we reported that Daft Punk’s Vevo page contained a listing which suggested the pair would make an unbilled appearance at this year’s Coachella festival. We subsequently noted that Songkick – about as reliable a clairvoyant as Michael Fish – was the source of the info, and that the listing had been taken down before the day was out.
As Pitchfork report, Daft Punk’s people have confirmed the obvious: that the pair won’t be playing the California festival after all. In their unambiguous words: “Daft Punk is not performing at Coachella this year.”
Daft Punk will release fourth studio album Random Access Memories on May 21 through Daft Life Ltd/Columbia. The album will run to 13 tracks, and is expected to feature appearances from Nile Rodgers and Pharrell – head here to sample clips.
