This August, Modeselektor and Apparat will combine forces once again as Moderat.

Moderat actually formed in the early ’00s, but it wasn’t until 2009 that they released their debut album, Moderat, through a combination of “different opinions on how they should work” and commitments to their individual projects – Modeselektor, of course, also run two record labels, while Apparat averages an album every couple of years. Sitting down with FACT’s Josh Hall, the trio explain how Moderat II will differ from the group’s first album, the toils of working together and the “LED war” that’s currently dominating the festival circuit.

Moderat play the Outdoor Transformer stage this year’s inaugural Eastern Electrics Festival on Friday 2nd August.
