Rap mogul Jimmy Henchman receives life sentence for drug trafficking

The man born James Rosemond ran cocaine while managing the likes of Gucci Mane and Game.

In 2012, Rosemond was convicted of drug trafficking, obstruction of justice, firearms violations and other financial crimes in what has been described as an “$11 million a year bicoastal cocaine trafficking business.” Rosemond and his associates would often use his music management company, Czar Entertainment, as cover for illicit activities.

“His image as a music impresario was a cover for the real Jimmy Rosemond, a thug in a suit,” said Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch. At one time, Rosemond managed talent throughout the rap and R&B worlds, including Game, Brandy, Sean Kingston, and Gucci Mane.

Rosemond still faces separate charges for orchestrating the murder-for-hire of Lowell Fletcher, an associate of 50 Cent. He is also rumored to have ordered the 1994 attack of Tupac Shakur in a Manhattan music studio.
