Kanye’s contentious Breakfast Club interview has landed him in hot water.

Last Tuesday, lightning rod Kanye West stopped by New York’s Power 105.1 for an interview with hip-hop morning show The Breakfast Club. While the interview was most notably marked by Kanye’s exchanges with anti-Yeezus proponent Charlamagne Tha God, the rapper is also accused of having furthered anti-Semitic stereotypes. While discussing President Obama, Kanye took an unfortunate detour:

“Man, let me tell you about George Bush and oil money and Obama and no money. People want to say Obama can’t make these moves or he’s not executing. That’s because he ain’t got those connections. Black people don’t have the same level of connections as Jewish people. Black people don’t have the same connection as oil people.”

The Anti-Defamation League has asked Kanye to apologize for the remarks. “As a celebrity with a wide following, Kanye West should know better,” says ADL National Director Abraham H. Foxman. “We hope that he will take responsibility for his words, understand why they are so offensive, and apologize to those he has offended.”
