Mutek and Elektra confirm final EM15 plans and reveal full line-up

Mutek and Elektra are both on their 15th year, and have joined forces for a mammoth celebration.

The Montreal-based festivals have long shared themes, and have made the partnership official with a lineup of events, exhibitions and music that easily places them a long way from the competition. Set in the city’s lavish Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC), the festival seems to have set its focus on new discoveries and emerging art, and it boasts a massive series of premieres, from Tim Hecker’s new Fogs Works to a rare performance from Andreas Tilliander under his vintage-gear fetishizing TM-404 moniker.

The sheer number of artists showcased at EM15 is almost overwhelming: there are performances planned from Bristolian bass whisperer Pinch, Greek dub-techno pioneer Fluxion, Night Slugs’ Egyptrixx, laptop abuser Holly Herndon, Oneohtrix Point Never, recent Ninja Tune signee Lee Bannon, Nicholas Jaar, Monolake founder Robert Henke, To Rococo Rot’s Robert Lippok, Shackleton, Move D, Donato Dozzy and absolutely loads more.

There are also just as many intriguing experimental oddities as there are techno floor fillers, and during the day visitors can entertain themselves with a series of conferences, presentations and workshops at the Phi Center, looking at the impact of digital art across the world.

The festival kicks off on May 27, and if you want to secure tickets or browse the complete lineup, make sure you head over to the EM15 website.
