The East London venue is here to stay.

Earlier this year Rich Mix was on the verge of shutting down following a dispute over repayments with Tower Hamlets Council. A petition was started to call for the venue to be able to settle the amount in instalments rather than a single payment that would have busted them.

The venue announced this weekend that the petition has been successful and Rich Mix will remain open, putting them in the rare category of London venues saved from closure in the past year.

“As the situation with Tower Hamlets has been resolved, we can now close our petition. Thank you again to all who helped us reach this happy stage,” the organisers wrote in a brief update on Change.org.
