Sex Tags affiliate shares his new full-length.
Bård Aasen Lødemel, aka Skatebård, will release his fourth album through Balsa Wood Records next week. Entitled CDIII, the album is described by the label as a “Scando-cosmic reinterpretation of pure Detroitian house, electro and emotive glacial techno.”
Hailing from Norway’s west coast, Lødemel emerged from the early-’00s space disco scene alongside compatriots Todd Terje and Lindstrøm. Lødemel’s musical career, however, has had a different trajectory. Formerly a drummer in a metal band, Lødemel achieved regional notoriety as an MC in hip-hop outfit Side Brok. Throughout this time he kept one foot on the dancefloor, releasing cosmic club tracks on his own Digitalo Enterprises imprint and delivering his debut album Midnight Magic in 2006. Since then, Lødemel has released his work via labels such as Sex Tags and Prins Thomas’ Full Pupp imprint.
Skatebård’s CDIII will be released on October 23 via Balsa Wood. Stream the album in full below via NPR.
