For those who had their ears taped up all year, here’s what 2015 sounded like.

It sounded a lot like Bieber and Fetty Wap and The Weeknd and Major Lazer, obviously, but if you put them all together you get a weird insight into the mood of the year, which is something like a sad emoji next to a crying with laughter emoji; a mood we like to call “tears at the dance-off”.

DJ Earworm has been pulling off this feat since 2009, and comparing his first edition to this year’s, it’s fair to say that some serious advances have been made in popular music. Well done everyone. [via Billboard]
