Kode9, Busy P and TCF are among the artists curated by the festivals at this year’s event.

Austria’s Elevate and Greece’s Reworks festivals have teamed up with Sónar to present a series of shows at this year’s Barcelona event, featuring Kode9 and Nozinja.

The tech-focused Sónar+D event will see most of the action, with Kode9 and Lawrence Lek discussing their visual collaboration The Nøtel, Lars Holdhus aka TCF discussing blockchain technology, and a discussion of European and North American electronic music.

Reworks will curate a series of Sónar by Day events: as well as shows from Nozinja, Ivy Lab, Section Boyz, Badbadnotgood, Ison and Tendts, Ed Banger Records will field Busy P, Para One and Boston Bun at a label showcase.

Reworks and Elevate’s involvement takes place as part of We Are Europe, a three-year project linking eight European festivals across 56 stages.

The shows form part of the main Sónar programme, which this year features New Order, Oneohtrix Point Never, James Blake and Ben UFO B2B Helena Hauff. Sónar+D sees appearances from Brian Eno, Jean-Michel Jarre, Richie Hawtin and Raster-Noton’s Carsten Nicolai and Olaf Bender, who discuss visual conceptualisations of their music.

Sónar takes place in Barcelona this year from June 16-18 – tickets can be found at the festival website.
