A shape-shifting companion piece to the other 99.9%.

Just days after scooping Canada’s equivalent of the Mercury – the Polaris Music Prize – for his album 99.9%, genre-blending beatmaker Kaytranada has gifted us a brand new mixtape, for free.

The 90-minute tape, titled 0.001%, serves up the Montreal-based producer’s signature stew of instrumental hip-hop, funk, soul, house and R&B but steers an even choppier trip than 99.9%’s far out voyage. Splicing together myriad samples, including ‘All Night’ from Chance The Rapper’s Coloring Book, it also features new material from Kaytranada himself. Listen and download from SoundCloud below.

Kaytranda had revealed he was working on the mixtape during an interview with Zane Lowe back in May, where he also dropped his ‘80s-inspired revamp of Rhianna’s ‘Kiss It Better’, a standout track from the star’s ANTI album.
