The Nottingham producer lets loose a shimmering cut from the upcoming Galaxy Gardens LP.

When Matt Cutler (alias Lone) last graced FACT’s review pages, it was with 2011’s good-not-great Echolocations EP. ‘Crystal Caverns 1991’ sees Cutler mining similar territory: the lustrous synths, the Mortal Kombat snare punches, the rave-on-Alpha-Centuri feel are all still here. Whether or not it’s Cutler’s most radical statement, ‘Crystal Caverns 1991’ is still an infectious, rainbow-flecked five minutes of fun.

Galaxy Gardens is out on May 7, via R&S. ‘Crystal Caverns 1991’ is currently available to stream over at Pitchfork.
