Tri Angle’s young pup has given KP & Envyi’s 1998 track ‘Swing My Way’ the aqueous treatment.

KP & Envyi’s original is a playful piece of double-speed new jack swing: it describes a carefree night out, and it’s designed to soundtrack one. Balam Acab’s respin, clocked by XLR8R, totally subverts the carnival spirit of the original. The ladies’ vocals are pitched down to barbershop baritones, and Balam Acab strips out the rattling drums entirely. The result – all burbling synths, glass-taps and obscure metal clangs – sounds like it’s being cooked up in a laboratory in real time.
