Journalist Joe Muggs pinned down three generations of dance music talent to speak on the value of a good rig.

You can watch the resultant video, recorded on behalf of Dimensions Festival (at which all three artists are playing), below.

Moments of particular value include Carl Craig citing the Ragga Twins’s early releases as the moment when he started “hearing bass in a different way”, and reminiscing about going to Notting Hill Carnival in 1992 and experiencing “bass that makes your pants legs quiver”. Midland recalls playing on an unexpectedly massive system in Poland, and Mala waxes poetic about harmony and conflict.

Dimensions takes place on September 6-9 at Fort Punta Christa, Pula, Croatia, and will play host to Moodymann, Four Tet, Theo Parrish, Joy Orbison and many more. Further info and tickets on their website.
