A fantastically spartan new cut from Night Slugs boss L-Vis 1990 has been given a welcome radio airing.

Last we heard from L-Vis 1990, he was making deliberately punchy house music as part of Night Slugs’ no-fuss Club Constructions series. A new cut aired by Bok Bok on his most recent Rinse FM show, provisionally titled ‘Battle 4D’, shows the producer back crafting more off-kilter fare.

The radio rip, available below, fades in just as Bok Bok gives a shout-out to Logos. It’s a fitting coincidence: ‘Battle 4D’s’ hollow bass, ‘Idioteque’-grade snare cracks and yawning negative space all nod in the eski futurist’s direction. Still, L-Vis 1990 knows how to breathe some new life into the template, bolting offbeat claps and twinkling synth motifs onto the track’s icy foundations. Bok Bok, fittingly, calls the track “submarine music” – and believe us, this goes deep.
