Oakland’s young rap heroes have returned with more succour for adventurous hip-hop fans.

Squadda B and MondreM.A.N have barely broken their early twenties, but they’ve already made an indelible impression: they remain the purest exponents of the endemic “cloud rap” sound, they’ve released one of the decade’s superior rap full-lengths (last year’s 808s & Black Grapes), and their Green Ova imprint is proving a worthwhile source of slanted hip-hop. Despite all that, the pair are yet to actually release a proper LP.

That changes on October 23, when Young One will drop Bossalinis & Fooliyones.  “We don’t make no party music”, MondreM.A.N told FACT in a recent interview, but a fair chunk of Bossalinis & Fooliyones is loose, funky, and surprisingly fun. Supreme Cuts and Harry Fraud are among the producers on the board, and the beats range from twisted G-Funk to those familiar ambient interludes.

The record is now streaming in full, courtesy of The Fader.
