They might not be the most likely of bedfellows, but on underrated Mississippi rapper Big K.R.I.T.’s ‘R.E.M.’, he’s joined by British man of the moment James Blake.

Sort of anyway, as the rapper has taken chunks of Blake’s famed ‘The Wilhelm Scream’ and chopped it into an airy, jazzy backdrop for his pointed, endearingly accented rhymes. K.R.I.T. has never really had the attention he deserves, but this shows he’s still hard at work operating just outside of the mainstream, and clearly any genre is up for the taking on his upcoming mixtape King Remembered In Time [via Consequence of Sound]
