Unknown To The Unknown regular Matrixxman beams in another set of extraterrestrial club music.

The San Fran producer remains best known for making creolized UK garage with 5kinAndBone5, and he’s put his name to collaborations with the likes of Mykki Blanco, Nick Hook and Vin Sol (additional note: his recent remix of Palace’s ‘Trust’ remains an absolute peach). His latest, The XX Files, has just dropped on boxfresh Brooklyn imprint Fifth Wall, and presents four new tracks plus bonus remixes from UK producers Myler and Ill Life.

The EP offers a pot-luck selection of amped-up, bass-heavy sounds: hollowed-out house of ‘Case Closed’; Larry Heard deepness on ‘Credentials’;’ and, on ‘Protocol’, a bare bones riddim raised in the Kowton school of hard knocks. Click below to stream, courtesy of The Fader.
