Listen to The Weeknd's 'Love In The Sky'

No Portishead this time — just neon-soaked power balladry.

Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye follows the controversial ‘Belong to the World’ with ‘Love In The Sky’, a song whose Linn drum and soaring guitar leads would find it at home in the 80s.

Lyrically, his Drakish tales of sad success border on self-parody: “As for me / I’m flying around the world / I’ve been these shows / but I’m always getting high / because my confidence low / and I’m always in a rush / ain’t no time to fuck slow” — and it only gets worse from there. The Weeknd’s debut album, Kiss Land, is due out on September 10.
