A new documentary, which delves as deep into the West Coast’s fertile beat music scene as any flick’s ever gone, is coming to London.

Gus Sutherland’s All Ears looks to join the dots between the disparate crews and labels that have helped shape Los Angeles’ thriving beat scene. The cast list is certainly impressive, with just about every Tom, Dick and Harry involved in the community making an appearance. That means appearances from key early innovators (Dam-Funk, Jneiro Jarel, Exile, Dibia$e), a brace of artists from the Brainfeeder axis (Flying Lotus, Ras G, Tokimonsta, Gaslamp Killer), and an assortment of other vital faces (Georgia Ann Muldrow, Zeroh, Knxwledge, Teebs).

The film will screen twice a day on October 13-16, and later on October 20-23, at Peckham’s Montpelier Back Room Cinema. Screenings will take place at 6.30pm and 8.30pm. The opening night, which kicks off at 7.30pm, will also boast a special Q&A, featuring Kutmah, Mr Beatnick, director Gus Sutherland and FACT writer Laurent Fintoni.
