Berklee alumnus and experimentalist Memory9 continues his explorations of the slow/fast axis.

Milan-based Memory9 is a producer and musician with a rich background: from learning his chops in the underground scene in Milan to studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston before moving to London where he involved himself with the free party sound systems and became a resident at the early Soundcrash parties in the capital.

In recent years he’s aligned himself with producers like Machinedrum and Om Unit by exploring the potentials in the 80/160bpm slow/fast axis that has brought new ideas and fervour to the drum n bass, jungle and footwork scenes. His last release, the Black Dragon EP, featured a remix from Om Unit and received praise from the likes of Coldcut and Laurent Garnier.

The Red Falcon EP is the latest result of Memory9’s experimentations and follows neatly from Black Dragon with four tracks that flirt with a more organic approach and greater focus on melodies. You can hear ‘Bloodlines’ exclusively below, an hypnotic roller that perfectly summarises Memory9’s approach on this release.

The EP is released via Memory9’s own Mnemonic Dojo imprint on December 16. You can download another EP track, ‘The Dodecahedron’, via Soundcloud and see a teaser video for the EP below.
