Australian company umidi have launched a Kickstarter with the aim of offering electronic musicians the chance to design a MIDI controller suited to their exact needs.
As Beatportal point out, the product will use a 6×6 grid as its starting point – customers can then fill that grid with faders, knobs, jog wheels, push buttons and the rest of it. It’s not cheap – a standard umidi controller will set you back $975 AUD – but hey, ’tis the season to be generous.
