The Austrian festival returns for another round of experimental music and performance art this spring.

Donaufestival takes places over two consecutive weekends in the town of Krems, launching on April 29. Highlights from the first weekend include Mogwai performing their soundtrack for Cold War documentary Atomic, Congolese innovators Mbongwana Star, Chicago acid devotee Hieroglyphic Being, footworker RP Boo, and Shackleton presenting Powerplant.

The next weekend sees performances from Dial campanophile Pantha Du Prince, Dean Blunt and Arca’s Babyfather project, drone explorer Tim Hecker, and PAN artist Rashad Becker with members of Alarm Will Sound.

A variety of performances and installations are also planned, including specially commissioned work, and many more artists and participants are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
