The official film soundtrack for John Hughes’ classic teen comedy, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, is finally set for release to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary, reports Salon.
No tracklist or release date have been confirmed as yet, but some of the songs featured in the 1986 ‘Brat Pack’ hit – which follows the misadventures of high school student Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) as he bunks off school for the day – include an instrumental cover of The Smiths’ ‘Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want’ by The Dream Academy and ‘Oh Yeah’ by Yello.
The Beatles’ ‘Twist and Shout’ also appears in one of the movie’s most famous scenes. Watch a clip of that below.
The soundtrack release is a joint venture between La-La Land Records, who specialise in movie soundtracks and scores, and Paramount Pictures.
