Production team Banx & Ranx offer up their take on the single.

Gorillaz have shared a remix of their Popcaan-featuring track, ‘Saturnz Barz’, by the Montreal-based production duo Banx & Ranx.

Banx & Ranx were founded in 2014 by DJs/artists/producers Soke and KNY Factory and are known for releasing remixes of dancehall and reggae tracks. Listen to a clip of the remix below or hear it in full on the latest episode of MistaJam’s BBC Radio 1 show at the 53:13 mark.

The band also revealed that more remixes will be dropping next week.

The original version of ‘Saturnz Barz’ was one of four new songs to debut in March when the virtual band returned to announce their fifth studio album, Humanz.

Humanz – the band’s first new album in six years – features an all-star lineup that includes Kelela, Grace Jones, Mavis Staples, Danny Brown, De La Soul, Pusha T and more. It’s out April 28 via Parlophone.

Last week, the Damon Albarn-created group hit another milestone when they broke YouTube’s record for the biggest debut of a VR video. Watch the surreal 360 virtual reality video for ‘Saturnz Barz’ (Spirit House) below.
