Russell Haswell will release a new album, FACTUAL, on October 15.

It’s his fifth recording for Editions Mego since 2009, and arrives mere months after 2011’s Acid No!se Synthesis and IN IT (Immersive Live Salvage). This year the British artist has already proffered another live document (Scandinavian Parts: Immersive Live Salvage Supplement), and been remixed by William Bennett, Kevin Drumm and Regis for a 10″ on the latter’s Downwards label.

FACTUAL, available to pre-order here, consists mainly of studio recordings which, according to eMego, “take [Haswell’s] use of real-time, one-take, analogue/digital modular synthesis to new levels and extremes.” Notable tracks include ‘BLACK METAL INSTRUMENTAL INTRO DEMO’ (“a one-man-band flashback, recalling his personal exposure and experiences at early black metal concerts in the UK and Europe”), and ‘KILLER SNAKEHEAD’ and ‘RAVE NIHILATION’, both “investigations into the extremities of Techno and its logical interplay with Japanese Noise.”

The last track on the album, ‘SHEFFIELD’, is a short live session recorded by eMego boss Peter Rehberg at Channing Hall in the Steel City on March 24, 2012.
