Following on from Holly Herndon’s re-upped automotive epic ‘CAR’, here’s another treat for petrolheads.

As Juno Plus report, Gerd Janson, boss of German imprint Running Back, will put out the Musik For Autobahns compilation CD for Rush Hour. Running Back have had their fair share of triumphs this year, clocking up release from luminaries like Theo Parrish (the Hand Made EP) and Redshape (this month’s Square). Musik For Autobahns – a self-styled “ambient not ambient” collection – sees chief selector Janson exercising his sure touch, calling up an impressive selection of producers.

Innervisions duo Âme, house supremo Move D, disco editor Tensnake, Roman Flügel and Motor City Drum Ensemble are among the acts mooted to appear. Âme will also go a step further, prefacing the disc with a limited one-sided 12″ release. As the clip below (courtesy of Rush Hour) demonstrates, ‘Erkki’ is a crawling disco number in the mould of Todd Terje – a bit of a curveball, then, and definitely a pleasant one.

The ‘Erkki’ sampler arrives this week, with the compilation due in the near future.
