R.I.P. Bronx rapper Tim Dog (1967-2013)

Timothy “Tim Dog” Blair was best known for the classic diss track ‘Fuck Compton’.

The Source reports that the 46-year-old rapper has died from a diabetes-related seizure.

Tim Dog was best known for ‘Fuck Compton’, a song that appeared on his 1991 debut album Penicillin on Wax. As the title suggests, it’s a scathing diss track aimed at the epicenter of the then-rising West Coast gangsta rap scene; several West Coast MCs responded to the song as the East Coast-West Coast rivalry heated up.

Previously, Tim Dog had been an unofficial member of seminal crew Ultramagnetic MCs. He went on to form Ultra with Ultramagnetic’s Kool Keith and the duo released one album, Big Time, in 1996. His last release was 2006’s BX Warrior, and his most recent notoriety was for an unfortunate reason: in 2011, he pleaded guilty to grand larceny involving an online dating scam.
