You read that right, new Heineken sponsored project is an attempt to further merge the senses.

Heineken’s Green Room is backing a new project called The Scenthesizer that aims to allow a DJ to not just control the music you hear but also the aromas you smell.

Originally developed by creative agency Iris, The Scenthesizer is currently still in prototype stages. The idea is to allow a DJ to control the scents on the dancefloor via in-built vents that would let him or her pump out different scents into a dancing space that match the mood of the music and evolve with it.

You can view a promo video for the project below, featuring Darker Than Wax’s DJ Funk Bastard and perfume expert T.J. Interestingly the latter compares music and aromas by pointing out that scents also have high, mid and low ‘notes’. [Via Protein]
