Select titles in the franchise will get vinyl soundtracks courtesy of the label.

Nile Rodgers’ Sumthing Else label has struck a deal with video game publisher Ubisoft to release physical soundtracks for its key franchises.

The partnership starts with CD releases of the soundtracks from the first five Assassin’s Creed games on September 25, with “select” titles receiving future vinyl releases.

The deal also covers physical releases for franchises including platformer Rayman, first-person shoot ’em up Far Cry, the Prince Of Persia reboot and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, the latter of which saw Amon Tobin compose the first in the series. There’s no indication which titles will be receiving vinyl releases – we’re guessing whichever ones do best on CD first.

Since it opened in the late 90s Sumthing Else has released soundtracks from companies including Capcom, Konami, Sega, Sony, Square Enix and more.
