After winning £148 million in the Euromillions in 2012, Adrian Bayford has opened a record store in Cambridge.

Opening over the weekend, Black Barn Records deals second-hand albums, as well as music and film memorabilia. Bayford was already working in the music industry, running Suffolk Music Centre in Haverhill when he and his then-wife Gillian won the second-biggest jackpot in British history.

Earlier this year, Bayford purchased £10,000 of Lady Gaga merch, as well as rare photo of The Beatles signed by John Lennon right before he died: “Unlike a lot of the national chains who sell you what they want to sell we cater to what people actually want,” he told Cambridge News. “Not everyone wants to buy online, we offer a unique experience in the shop, catering from eight-year-olds to 80-year-olds.”

Bayford plans to open more record shops in the future and also hopes to open a vinyl pressing plant in the UK.
