Yes, he really goes by Lil Poopy.

Boston teen rapper Lil Poopy has signed a four-year deal with Epic Records before even starting eighth grade. You may know him from his controversial remix of French Montana’s ‘Pop That’.

The video for the song featured a 9-year-old Poopy riding in a Ferrari (without a seatbelt) and slapping a woman’s ass. It caught the attention of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families who launched an emergency investigation after the local police filed a complaint again Poopy’s father Luis Rivera for child abuse or neglect.

Poopy, né Luis Rivera Jr., who has co-signs from Montana and other rappers, later redeemed himself and was a contestant on the inaugural season of Queen Latifah-produced Lifetime reality show The Rap Game. The competition pits five young rappers against each other for a chance to sign with Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def label and become another child star under his tutelage, like Kriss Kross and Bow Wow.

He may not have won (he barely came in second place), but that’s no matter. Poopy has signed a four-year deal with the L.A. Reid-helmed Epic Records, according to The Boston Herald. No other details of the contract were disclosed, but we are sure to hear more from Poopy soon. He is slated to release his second mixtape Coke Ain’t a Bad Word 2 Liter soon.
